Last week I attended an event called “the rise of digital media in Asia” at Singapore National Library’s “Pod”.

I had never been to this place before and was mightily impressed.

Situated across the road from the Intercontinental Hotel, the pod offers truly fabulous views of the city, the Malacca straits and even the distant shores of Indonesia.

As the event kicked off around 630 p.m. we had the added bonus of a tropical sunset.

The focus of the event was more networking than presentations - speakers were limited to around 5 minutes each.

But even in these times, digital media is clearly a promising industry. One speaker commented that the mobile industry will experience double digit growth in 2009.
