BioMedical boost

Yesterday I spent time at a BioMedical exhibition in Singapore.

The main reason for visiting was to see new innovations in product, service and best practice which may ultimately drip down into the consumer products and functional food industries given the ongoing surge towards wellness.

The main exhibitors were from Europe and other parts of Asia. I was struck that Japanese and US companies seemed to be very thin on the ground.

Surprising given the health market in Asia, currently worth around US$240 billion, is set to grow between 5 and 10% this year.

Interestingly, Scotland had a big stand and clearly sees this a priority growth sector.
