In need of some magic

According to the FT, Disney is having second thoughts about expanding its troubled Hong Kong park much to the ire of the local Government.

The core of the problem is the lack of visitors which are about 30% below initial projections.

Disneyland HK has suffered some of the same challenges as its Paris sibling, though the latter has now become profitable and one of Europe’s top tourist destinations.

Whilst Eurodisney was not helped by grey Northern European skies, the smog and pollution which plagues HK most days, most certainly has been an inhibiting factor, especially for the all important repeat visitors.
